Mike Norvell and the FSU football team have gotten off to an unexpected 0-2 start after starting the season ranked No. 10 nationally. The expectations were to repeat as ACC champs and to have a shot to make the 12-team College Football Playoff, and anything other than that was gravy. The odds of either happening are slim, and the F word (fire) has been uttered by a small, uninformed segment of the fanbase.

That won't happen this year after Norvell signed a huge extension in January after turning down the Alabama job when they came calling. FSU fans have every right to be upset because we thought the days of losing to teams like Georgia Tech and Boston College were over, and the program floor was winning 8-9 games again.

Truthfully, I wondered if FSU would make a bowl game after watching the Boston College game on Monday night. However, after watching film and taking emotions away(a true Virgo trait in Virgo season), I realize this team isn't far off from that. If they had better quarterback play alone, I think they'd be 2-0 or 1-1 at worst.

Nowhere near preseason expectations, but not returning to the dumpster fire teams from 2018-2021. Ironically, those teams had poor quarterback play until Jordan Travis emerged, and once that happened in mid 2021, the defense began to play better too. I'm not saying FSU will win 8-9 games this year, but I have five reasons why Mike Norvell will get this thing turned around again.
