FSU football: 5 MAJOR keys to defeating Boston College Eagles

Don't Settle for Field Goals
FSU kicking field goals instead of scoring touchdowns was the major difference in the Georgia Tech game with limited possessions. Both teams had seven possessions, with Georgia Tech scoring three touchdowns and kicking the game-winning field goal. FSU scored two touchdowns(with one two-point conversion) and kicked two field goals. Both teams scored on four of their seven possessions, but Georgia Tech didn't settle for field goals.
This game against Boston College could have limited possessions if FSU struggles to stop their running game and doesn't hit explosive plays on offense. I'm almost of the belief it's four-down territory anytime FSU is inside the Boston College 40-yard line, and it's three yards or less to achieve a first down. They have a veteran offensive line, a 250-pound quarterback, and two running backs who are not small. At some point, they will have to show some physicality and impose their will. Boston College doesn't have a huge defensive line and they don't have a great secondary. If FSU can't put up points against a less talented defense in the first game of year one with a new defensive coordinator, they have bigger problems than we thought.
