Player Retention

The transfer portal has changed the game in so many ways. I gave a lot of credit to the portal for FSU's resurgence, but a great deal of credit must go to the staff and The Battle's End for player retention. FSU has lost players to the portal over the past few years, but it's rarely been a player that's been massive lost. The coaching staff and the TBE Collective have done a great job keeping the players they wanted or HAD to keep. Have some players left the program they didn't want to lose? Absolutely! They didn't want to see Omarion Cooper and DJ Lundy enter the portal.

Cooper came back after one season at Colorado and Lundy came back after entering the portal and committing to Colorado. They didn't want to see Rodney Hill leave, but it was a situation that didn't make sense to keep him. Have difference-making players threatened to enter the portal? For sure. However, they worked together to retain those guys because they had to have them to remain among the top programs. Many programs out there flaunt a big NIL game and don't deliver. The Battle's End Collective is one of the most respected in the nation.
