FSU football: 3 ways 2024 team is similar to 2015, 3 ways they're better

Transfer QB Starting
It's weird to think about now because it was nearly 5-6 years before the transfer portal emerged, but FSU had a transfer quarterback to start the season in Notre Dame's Everett Golson. Golson didn't transfer until after the spring semester, missing spring camp, a major factor in his inconsistency as a starter. He started the first seven games but got replaced by Sean Maguire after the offense looked stagnant in the loss to Georgia Tech. Golson only appeared in two more games after that before leaving the team before the bowl game.
FSU will have a transfer as its starting quarterback in DJ Uiagalalei in 2024. One of the major differences is that Uiagalelei enrolled in the spring and will have experienced spring, summer, and fall camps. He's also gone through the transfer process before and has already shown capable of learning a new offense quickly. It'll be his third offense in three years, so he will likely avoid most of the issues that plagued Golson's time in Tallahassee. I also believe Mike Norvell is better at playing to a player's strengths than Jimbo Fisher.
