DEFENSIVE LINE AFTER JARED VERSE AND BRADEN FISKE

Florida State football said goodbye to its two tremendous defensive linemen Jared Verse and Braden Fiske, who were both selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2024 NFL Draft. Fans knew that it could be an uphill battle as the defenders were so vital to the team's success last year.

The Seminoles added Georgia's Marvin Jones Jr. and Oregon State's Sione Lolohea via the transfer portal last offseason. While they will never fully replace the production of both Verse and Fiske, I believe that Jones Jr. and Lolohea can be difference makers.

Florida State has been considered a transfer portal destination for defensive linemen with Jermaine Johnson II, Keir Thomas, and Jared Verse. Could Jones Jr. and Lolohea be the next ones in line? I know that is a ton of pressure on them.

The Georgia transfer was able to force a couple of quarterback hurries but did not record a sack. As for the Oregon State transfer, he showed flashes when he was in run support but he did not record a sack either. Patrick Payton is the returning veteran in the room who did not show much production last Saturday either.

The defensive line has to prove it belongs on Monday night versus Boston College.
