FSU football: 3 reasons why the Noles cover the spread versus Boston College
CONTAINING QB THOMAS CASTELLANOS
Florida State's starting defensive line did not have a tackle for loss or sack during Saturday's loss to Georgia Tech. It was quite a disappointment as ESPN's Pete Thamel viewed the Seminoles' defensive line as the best in the country.
It certainly did not seem that way during the loss as the defensive line was consistently losing the battle at the line of scrimmage and they failed to keep containment.
Quarterback Haynes King had numerous designed runs in the offense where he recorded 15 carries for 54 rushing yards. However, the Seminoles' defense will now have to face off against a quarterback in Thomas Castellanos who had 1,113 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.
During last season's matchup, the Seminoles did well to contain him for the first three quarters then the Florida State's defense allowed him to explode in the fourth quarter to give Seminole fans a scare as they escaped Chestnut Hill.
I believe that the Seminoles want to prove a statement and load the box to prevent Castellanos from running the football and force him to beat them with his arm.
