BETTER USE OF THE DEEP BALL

There were instances on Saturday where the Seminoles' offense looked very stagnant. Florida State did not want to go away from their identity of running the football. However, Georgia Tech was loading the box and forcing the Seminoles to pass the football.

Florida State brought in transfer signal-caller DJ Uiagalelei, who prides himself on throwing the football downfield. We did not see that much on Saturday. The Seminoles are having to replace the likes of big-bodied playmakers Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman from a season ago.

They have new pieces in the rotation such as Alabama's Malik Benson and LSU's Jalen Brown. However, it looks like the Seminoles are missing a true go-to threat as the longest pass in the game was 21 yards.

6'4" wide receiver Hykeem Williams was not available for the contest. I believe that if he can be back against Boston College, the Seminoles should have success downfield. However, it will be a stout challenge as the Eagles' defense was 26th in the FBS in passing yards allowed in 2023 (197.2).

This should be a game where the offense goes against what it did against Georgia Tech.
