FSU football: 3 reasons why individuals should take FSU money line versus Memphis
LACK OF STOPPING THE RUN
Let's face reality. Georgia Tech and Boston College's offenses were able to do whatever they wanted on the ground as both offenses finished 12th and 13th in the FBS in rushing yards per game last season.
I realize that the quarterback's running game should be less with Seth Henigan as the signal-caller for Memphis. Henigan recorded two carries for 24 yards and zero touchdowns. With that being said, I don't want this to be a coming-out party for the quarterback to run all over the Seminoles' defense (*knock on wood*). I just wanted to mention that they don't have to deal with Haynes King or Thomas Castellanos this week.
Unfortunately, Memphis running back Mario Anderson did have 17 rushing attempts for 125 yards and two touchdowns in their 38-17 win over Troy. This is worrisome since the Seminoles's defensive line has not been able to establish their dominance at the line of scrimmage.
Plus, the linebackers have not been effectively coming downhill in run support. Overall, fans should buckle up if the last two weeks were any indicator.
