Wide Receiver

The wide receiver position was another question mark heading into spring camp. The Noles have several veterans on the roster with hopes they'd emerge to become viable contributors in 2024. However, the coaching staff wasn't banking on that solely, which is why they added Malik Benson and Jalen Brown from the transfer portal. The spring game showed Benson is a guy who can likely be the No. 1 receiver. They have Hykeem Williams and Ja'Khi Douglas, who will likely provide a bit of production in 2024. However, veterans like Kentron Poitier and Darion Williamson haven't lit the world on fire this spring camp.

They've been "OK" but should have stood out more after several years in the system. Destyn Hill's injury looks like he could miss most if not all 2024, and the younger guys like Vandrevious Jacobs probably need another year. The room has a ton of potential to be elite in a year or two, but FSU needs at least one more proven wide receiver from the transfer portal. I saw at least one viable option from Arizona State enter a few days ago. The last addition from Arizona State turned out pretty good!
