FSU football: 3 major takeaways from 2024 fall camp second scrimmage

DJ Uiagalelei's Confidence
Mike Norvell is usually candid when describing where a player is in his development at practice. I'm not under the illusion that Uiagalelei knows this offense as well as Jordan Travis did in only seven months. However, I think Mike Norvell and Uiagalelei have merged his strengths into the offense to maximize what's possible. In hindsight, one of the best attributes of Jordan Travis was his ability to do damage with his legs. However, that attribute was often limited due to fear of injury because of his sleight build. Injuries can happen to anyone, but Uiagalelei has a track record of durability, which means they will not have any fear of unlocking every strength he brings.
Uiagalelei seems to have about as good of a grasp as you can have of Mike Norvell's offense. He's been consistently good in nearly every practice, and that continued on Saturday. He has an excellent offensive line in front, an excellent stable of running backs, and elite speed at wide receiver. I keep saying he'll be better than folks think, and everything points to that coming to fruition thus far.
