Who starts at the defensive end positions?

I think most FSU football fans would pencil Patrick Payton in as a likely starter since he played those snap amounts last year. The question is how do they replace the production of Jared Verse on the opposite side? Byron Turner Jr. showed some flashes, but Sione Lolohea is the most proven guy from the transfer portal. However, Marvin Jones Jr. and Durojaiye likely have higher ceilings. Honestly, who starts doesn't matter since they will likely rotate a ton similar to last season.

However, the tandems need to complement one another. It's why you saw certain guys on the field at the same time last year. This spring will help the coaching staff determine which players fit best where and which combinations are the most effective. For my money, I'd venture that Lolohea will see significant snaps because he's a proven run-stopper. However, this spring will be an opportunity to see how Marvin Jones Jr. and Durojaiye fit into a 4-3 scheme after playing in a 3-4.
