DE SIONE LOLOHEA

Trust me, I understand...

Florida State has two talented pass rushers Patrick Payton and Marvin Jones Jr. However, they both had forgettable performances versus Georgia Tech. The defensive line as a whole did not record a single sack.

However, one player who showcased flashes was senior Oregon State defensive end transfer Sione Lolohea. While Marvin Jones Jr. was the talk of the offseason in terms of defensive end pick-ups (rightfully so), Lolohea was hanging around in the shadows.

During fall camp, defensive ends coach John Papuchis called Lolohea a physical run-stopper. The defense certainly needed that effort versus Georgia Tech as they recorded 190 rushing yards.

The former Oregon State pass rusher had limited snaps but he graded out as the highest defender on the Seminoles' team according to PFF. I am not suggesting to bench Payton and Jones Jr., but I know this coaching staff likes to rotate defensive linemen and Boston College likes to run the football with Castellanos, Ward, and Robinchaux.

I think that Lolohea could be a huge factor in containing their rushing attack.
