Half of the players drafted were not inside the composite top 300 players in their recruiting class when they came out of high school. Johnny Wilson entered the transfer portal and nobody wanted to give him a shot except FSU. Trey Benson entered the transfer portal after a horrific knee injury and FSU was one of a handful of programs interested. Renardo Green signed with FSU out of high school, battled injuries, and position changes before becoming an All-ACC player. Braden Fiske went from a guy that was likely a UDFA or late round draft pick before coming to FSU, to a second round draft pick. These are all personal testimonies the coaching staff can point to when it comes to player development.
