The Season Is Over

The season is far from over. This was a weird game in some respects. Georgia Tech running the ball shortened the game, and FSU did themselves no favors by not picking up the tempo offensively. FSU ran 58 offensive plans, and Georgia Tech ran 52. Georgia Tech narrowly avoided two fumbles lost that could have been game-changing. In some ways, FSU played poorly, and Georgia Tech played close to its ceiling and still barely won. It's a one-game season each week from here on out. FSU has what should be winnable games over the next couple of weeks, and they'll have a bye-week after their next game.

The old saying is teams improve the most between games one and two. I think FSU can improve quite a bit over the next few weeks. I still believe FSU has the talent to be a very good defense. It's all about players playing their assignments and making tackles. Offensively, it's about not trying to bang a square peg into a round hole. If teams sell out to stop the run, FSU will need to throw the ball. Trust me, teams will try to copy this Georgia Tech game plan. FSU still has the potential to go 10-2 as long as they make the necessary adjustments.
