FSU football: 3 hidden areas Noles must improve in 2024 season
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has a few question marks heading into the 2024 season, with many new faces in important positions. The questions don't mostly involve production or experience but how the new faces will gel within the offensive and defensive schemes. Luckily, this is an area where the coaching staff has shown advanced ability to maximize talent from the transfer portal over the last few years. Can DJ Uiagalelei build on his success at Oregon State? Can Darrell Jackson consistently play at a high level at the defensive tackle spot? Who will be DJ Lundy's tag team partner at linebacker? Who will join Malik Benson and Kyle Morlock as legitimate receiving options on offense? There will not be a talent issue for FSU. It's all about players knowing their roles and playing consistently. If they do that, they'll win well over the majority of their games.
However, there are other parts of the game where this FSU team will need to improve over last year. I like to call them "hidden parts" that can impact games greatly but are hard to recognize in real time. Here are the three areas I pointed out in 2022. Here are the three areas for 2024.
