FSU football: 3 BOLD predictions for Clemson game
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU will rush for over 100 yards
I know you're reading that, knowing FSU hasn't been able to run the ball all season. California is the only game where they surpassed the century mark on the ground with 109 yards. I've already said Clemson is by far the best defense they'll face, but Clemson has given up a lot of yards on the ground.
They allow an average of 5.39 yards per attempt. No team averaged fewer than 4.71 yards per rush or had fewer than 149 yards on the ground against them. Clemson completely shut down FSU's running game last year, but FSU running backs left a lot on the table with bad vision when some holes were there.
Brock Glenn is more athletic than DJ Uiagalelei, which could open up some things in the running game with some read option, and some play-action. It's a big if, but if Brock Glenn can have some success through the air early, that'll give FSU more of a chance to get going on the ground.
Clemson allowed some explosive runs against NC State and Stanford last week. I think we'll see Mike Norvell scheme up a couple of big plays to get them over the mark.
