Will The Running Game Be Better Overall Than Last Year?

Mike Norvell always creates ways to run the ball every year, whether the offensive line is good or not. However, Jordan Travis not running as much last year seemed to limit the running game. Injuries along the offensive line and running backs failing to hit the right holes(mostly Trey Benson) resulted in a boom-or-bust run game. Benson rattled off several long touchdown runs on the season but probably had way too many runs stopped shorter than they should have been. However, DJ Uiagalalei is a capable runner, and the risk of injury seems much lower than with the smaller Jordan Travis.

Uiagalalei running 6-8 times per game could help open things up. I expect the offensive line to be better, and Alabama transfer Roydell Williams seems to have better vision than Benson but not the top-end speed to take a run 80 yards to the house. Lawrance Toafili has shown improvement running between the tackles, and then Caziah Holmes, Sam Singleton, and freshman Kameron Davis. I expect the running game to be better as long as teams have to respect the passing game.
