Roster

Looking at these issues, roster changes need to be made. The coaches knew, and the players knew, and in response, an exodus has taken place.

Baba Miller entered the transfer portal and NBA draft process. Jahmir Watkins entered the NBA draft process. Starting point guard, Jalen Warley has announced intentions to enter the portal as well.

Each of these prospects showed tremendous value during this past season. Other valuable portal entries include Cam Corhen, who has since committed to the Pitt Panthers, De'Ante Green, now a USF Bull, and Primo Spears.

Other departees include Tom House and Waka Mbatch in the transfer portal, and Darin Green, Jaylan Gainey, and Josh Nickelberry all exhausted their eligibility. Cam'Ron Fletcher decided to enter the transfer portal as well.

I think that in response, Hamilton and Co. should look toward a big bodied center who can dominate the boards. My mind takes me back to Balsa Kopravica as an ideal comparison for this mystery recruit. The Serbian big man was pivotal to the programs success in the early 2020s, and was the last of a run of dominate centers that the program saw.

So who remains for the Seminoles next year that Hamilton can rebuild around?

I believe the staff will look at Chandler Jackson who flashed his athleticism and ball skills and Taylor Bol Bowen who, while immature in his foul discipline and shot selection, was starting to find his footing late last season.

They have added three new freshmen in the most recent recruiting class and have added Hampton transfer, Jerry Deng. They must aggressively retool the roster, not just adding one new sheriff, but maybe an entirely new department and police force.

The team must add a Center that can dominate the boards and establish a consistent position in the post, as that has been absent on the team since Balsa Kopravica departed for the professional leagues in 2021.
