FSU baseball (19-0, 3-0 ACC) defeated the Stetson Hatters in a 1-0 pitcher's duel Tuesday night to remain the only undefeated team in college baseball. The Noles had several opportunities to bring across a run but were 0-9 with runners in scoring position until the bottom of the eighth inning. Credit to Stetson's defense because they made a few nice plays to prevent FSU from scoring a few times. FSU pitchers were outstanding, only allowing two hits, four walks, and 12 strikeouts. Brady Louck got the start, but it was a pitcher by committee, as seven FSU pitchers saw action. FSU batters only scratched out five hits and three walks against five strikeouts. They had a lot of impatient at-bats early in the game, as Stetson's starting pitcher got through the first three innings with fewer than 40 pitches.

However, FSU made solid contact several times with nothing to show. It was a cooler night in Tallahassee, and that likely kept a couple of balls hit by James Tibbs and Jaime Ferrer in the yard that normally would have left the ballpark. The Noles kept attacking, and Cam Smith hit a ball in the left centerfield gap to put runners on first and third with one out in the bottom of the eighth. James Tibbs lifted a deep fly ball to the warning track in center field to score the go-ahead run. Cam Smith tagged up on the play to reach second, and Jaime Ferrer walked to put runners on first and second with two outs. However, Drew Faurot flied out to end the inning. John Abraham pitched a scoreless ninth to close out the game for the save. FSU will travel to face No. 7 Clemson on Friday for a three-game series.
