Pitching

This is where it gets fun. I know everyone was excited for Cam Leiter to join the program, but I said it was clear Jamie Arnold was the ace of this staff after I saw about three starts this season. That will be the case next year as well. However, Leiter will hopefully fully recover from his season-ending injury and be a factor next season. Conner Whittaker should return, which is essentially the ideal starting rotation this season. Carson Dorsey was arguably the MVP pitcher this season, stepping into a starter's role once Cam Leiter went down. The Noles arguably wouldn't make the Men's College World Series if Dorsey didn't step up his game. He'll likely depart via the 2024 MLB Draft. If he somehow returned, that would be an embarrassment of riches.

FSU will lose Andrew Armstrong, Noah Short, and Brennen Oxford from the bullpen. Will Gavin Adams return after missing this season with Tommy John surgery? UCF transfer Jacob Marlowe missed the season because of open heart surgery. Ben Barrett should return after missing most of the season with an injury. Conner Hults could return and be nasty if he can develop more pitches to play off of his curveball. John Abraham, Matt Sauser, and Brady Louck could return. I think Joe Charles has another year of eligibility if he returns and there are a lot of young guys who could return. However, there are some guys who I won't mention who likely need to enter the transfer portal because I don't think they are FSU quality players. I think FSU already adding pitchers from the transfer portal supports that statement and will encourage them to move on. FSU will have a talented group of freshmen on the way too.
