FSU baseball: 3 reasons to be confident, 3 reasons to worry about Tennessee
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU Offense
The FSU offense averages about the same amount of runs scored as Tennessee. They hit for a better average, and strike out less, but have excellent power. When they're on, FSU can score with any team and have seen some excellent pitching this season. Tennessee doesn't have anyone better than Chase Burns from Wake Forest. The Noles went up against the future first-round draft pick, got seven hits, two walks, and scored three earned runs before chasing him from the game after 93 pitches in five innings.
FSU has six starters batting over .300 and five guys with an on-base percentage over .400. They have five guys with 13 or more home runs. Tennessee pitchers will have to worry about the FSU offense just as much as FSU will have to worry about Tennessee. However, Tennessee doesn't have a Jamie Arnold to start the game. FSU has great balance on both sides of the plate with lefties and righties. The Noles put the ball in play more than Tennessee, and they'll be more space for balls to find holes.
