Defensive Havoc/Swarming To The Ball
I keep saying it, but the FSU defense should be commended for the effort they've given in the past two games. The FSU offense has been anemic, averaging 15 points per game. They can't sustain drives, turn the ball over, and frankly is a big reason the FSU defense is on the field as much as they have been.
Cam Riley, hello.

He was barely even set before the snap and still surged into the backfield to stall out this Cal drive. He’s proven to be quite an addition to FSU’s LB room. pic.twitter.com/2xTTGGzxxl
We have been waiting for a FSU linebacker to fill the gap like this all season! If we could get more of that from Cam Riley!?
Much better job by Blake Nichelson and Shyheim Brown identifying this screen and swarming to make the play.

FSU got burned far too many times on plays like this in the first three games of the season. pic.twitter.com/cBn2bYf8wF
Man right here stood on business. Gotta be a starter from here on out pic.twitter.com/LiNc2zvx2j

The defense set the tone early against California, forcing punts on their first two possessions, and holding the Bears to a field goal after FSU turned it over with an interception. They shut down California's rushing attack, only allowing 2.9 yards per rush. They were stout in the red zone, holding California to five field goal attempts. They had seven sacks and 12 tackles for a loss. They swarmed to the football much of the night and played with a level of physicality we need to see from that group.
