Five MAJOR positives from FSU Seminoles victory over California Bears

Offensive 3rd Down Conversions
The FSU offense hasn't been good in many aspects whatsoever this season. However, one of the most important areas for any offense is the ability to convert on third downs. FSU has consistently been in third and long situations in the first three games.
A staggering 60 percent (33 of 55) of FSU third downs are seven yards+ to convert a first down. Here's how it breaks down by games:
- 5 of 12 (41.67 percent)
- 3 of 14 (21.43 percent)
- 2 of 12 (16.67 percent)
- 7 of 17 (41.18 percent)
It was the most third down opportunities FSU had created all season and the most they had converted. Several of these conversions against California were of the 3rd and 7+ variety, which is something FSU had struggled with(most teams struggle in that situation). FSU had success on several early downs and likely should have had more conversions had they executed better or chose to attack differently. Maybe this is something they can build on after looking at the film?
