Florida State football fans are still hurt from what transpired in December when the College Football Playoff committee left out an undefeated Seminole team for a one-loss Alabama team. I still can't believe that it happened the way that it did. The hurt that was seen on the faces of those players as well as head football coach Mike Norvell will never be forgotten.

However, individuals like ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit and Greg McElroy have voiced their pleasure over the Seminoles not making it to the playoffs. I pray for Herbstreit as he travels to Ireland in August for Florida State's season opener versus Georgia Tech.

I am all for the fact that everyone has their own respective opinions. McElroy was even on the Seminoles' side for the entirety of the year until Selection Sunday rolled around and his tone changed. The former Alabama quarterback was even on record saying that Florida State should not be left out if they go undefeated with or without signal-caller Jordan Travis.

After Selection Sunday, McElroy has been cast as a villain of the Seminoles' fan base (for good reason). He currently does a YouTube show "Always College Football" where he discusses about a variety of topics within the college football landscape.

The more recent YouTube video was getting into teams that are not being discussed enough by the general public such as Tennessee, Wisconsin, Missouri, Arizona, Kansas, Georgia, Boise State, and Washington. Florida State was in those list of teams (which is completely fine).

However, McElroy decided to take a dig at Florida State fans at the beginning of the YouTube video where the fan base kept continuing to leave one-star reviews. He discusses how the fan base is sabotaging the ratings.

Honestly, I can understand the frustration. McElroy is not a very likable person at the moment by the fan base. I believe that the Seminoles will begin to prove doubters like him wrong as they look to navigate into the 2024 season.
