Florida State football fans will always remember what transpired on that December day where the College Football Playoff committee excluded the Seminoles from an opportunity to compete for a national championship even though they were an undefeated ACC champion.

Even though the Seminoles lost to the Georgia Bulldogs in blowout fashion, several contributors elected to opt out of the exhibition since the committee deemed their hard work and determination to push through the devastating season-ending injury of quarterback Jordan Travis and remain undefeated as worthless.

This is something that the 2023 version of the Florida State football team will be thought of even though it was a special squad filled with talent. Two contributors that were household names for defensive coordinator Adam Fuller's unit were defensive end Jared Verse and Braden Fiske.

Both players transferred to Tallahassee from their previous institutions where Verse came from Albany while Fiske was from Western Michigan. The defensive line was dominant all season where the dynamic duo was putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Verse and Fiske combined for 15 tackles (7.5 for loss) and five sacks in the ACC Championship Game when Florida State needed it the most. They made Louisville's offense struggle all night long.

On Friday night, the Los Angeles Rams selected defensive tackle Braden Fiske with the 39th overall pick. This means that him and defensive end Jared Verse are teammates once again.

Immediately after the pick, Verse went to social media to share in the pleasure of his NFL team selecting his college teammate.

The Rams have to retool its roster after losing legendary defensive lineman Aaron Donald to retirement this offseason. What better way to build the future foundation of a team than to select two members in the defensive trenches who have high motors and know how to get to the quarterback?

While they did not get an opportunity to win a national championship together at Florida State, they can make their presence known in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams to win a Super Bowl together.

Disclaimer: For all Florida State fans who want to watch the duo in action, the Rams' closest game they will play towards the Tallahassee area is when they take on the Saints in New Orleans.
