PROVING THE DOUBTERS WRONG

It could have been easy to give up after so many individuals were discrediting your abilities due to an injury. However, Benson stuck to the grindstone and continued to work through the level of adversity.

This goes to show what happens when hard work meets determination. Just like I had discussed with Jordan Travis, it could have been easy to throw in the towel when the injury happened. Sometimes even the toughest soldiers have to endure difficulties, that is what life is all about.

The coaching staff stuck to their evaluation process and reaped the benefits of firmly believing in Benson's abilities as a ball carrier. There should be a ton of credit with how running backs coach David Johnson instilled confidence in Benson even when he was splitting opportunities with Treshaun Ward (before he transferred to Kansas State).

This is sweet justice for believing in himself and his abilities.
