CONSISTENT RUNNING GAME

Florida State had a tremendous running back in former Oregon transfer Trey Benson during the past two seasons with the Seminoles. Some fans worried about Benson's lower-body injury, but he proved the doubters wrong with 1,800+ rushing yards and 23 touchdowns in his two seasons in Tallahassee.

While the numbers look fantastic, Benson was a boom-or-bust runner for the Seminoles. It would be 3rd down and 8 and he took a 60-yard touchdown to the house just when you thought the fan base was getting ready for an Alex Mastromanno punt.

I believe that the 2024 season will be different with a set set of backs. The coaching staff added Alabama's Roydell Williams and Indiana's Jaylin Lucas in the transfer portal as well as four-star prospects Kameron Davis and Micahi Danzy on the recruiting trail.

It is worth mentioning that Florida State also has Lawrance Toafili, Caziah Holmes, and Samuel Singleton Jr. already on its roster. There are legitimately seven backs in the rotation that could play during this year.

Nonetheless, I believe that the coaching staff's goal would be getting the running game consistent enough to where it is 3rd down and short to create opportunities for DJ Uiagalelei to run, throw a quick pass, take a shot downfield, or run the football. It helps that the possibilities are endless.
