Can FSU Basketball get a series sweep over Boston College?
By Cole Maines
The madness of March for FSU basketball is just beginning. With Florida State losing three straight, the Seminole's last win came against the Eagles in Boston on the sixth of the month. Since then, have fallen into a tie for seventh place with Clemson in the ACC.
With teams jostling for positioning, the Seminoles are hoping to right the ship with five games remaining in the regular season. Separated by one game from three teams that are tied for fourth, every game will be pivotal for the Seminoles as they try to make a run in the ACC to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
Led in points, assists, rebounds, and steals by Jahmir Watkins (2), the Seminoles will need better performances from their depth to best their remaining foes.
Baba Miller (11) and Cam Corhen (3) had their minutes increased and made it count. Alternatively, a poor run of play has seen Primo Spears (23) play less and less. Spears did not play in the second half against Duke despite proving valuable with seven points in 14 minutes on 50% shooting.
The Seminoles must defend the three-point shot better against Boston College to emerge victorious. They will also need to control the basketball better and have fewer turnovers while maintaining their strong defensive performance from earlier in the month.
ESPN.com favors the Seminoles with a 71 percent chance to win. They will need to restrict Boston College's big man and leader in points and rebounds Quinten Post (12) better than last time for that prediction to come to fruition.
Post averages 16.4 points per game and 7.7 rebounds. However, during the last matchup in Boston, Post tallied a points-rebounds double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds.
The predicted total for the game is 150 points, and the spread is -4.3 in favor of the Seminoles.
