. . . 447. . . . 14. ACC early power rankings.

Virginia Tech is yet another team that lost all five starters, but instead of players going to the NBA draft or losing eligibility, the Hokies lost everyone to the transfer portal. Initially, the Hokies lost six players to the portal until Mylyjael Poteat chose to come back.

Luckily while the Hokies have lost players, they have also gained players from the portal. Former Cal guard Rodney Brown comes to Virginia Tech and brings some experience as he averaged 3.5 points per game and 1.1 rebounds, but shot 40.6% from the floor and 39.7% from beyond the arc. The other big transfer the Hokies have brought is Ben Burnham from Charleston who averaged 11.9 points per game and 4.5 rebounds.

With some other additions, and a solid incoming recruiting class, the Hokies could be sneaky next season, but there is still a lot of work for head coach Mike Young to make it to the NCAA Tournament next season.
