. . . 517. . . . 17. ACC early power rankings.

Stanford is coming from the ruins of the Pac-12, which was also less competitive than the ACC was this past season. It has been eight years since we have seen Stanford in the NCAA Tournament, which meant they decided to part ways with head coach Jerod Haase. They chose to replace Haase with fellow Pac-12 coach out of Washington State Kyle Smith.

The Cardinal lost Michael Jones and Spencer Jones to graduation along with Brandon Angel, Kanaan Carlyle, and Andrej Stojakovic to the transfer portal. They did retain their leading scorer Maxime Raynaud who led the team with 15.5 points per game and 9.6 rebounds. Raynaud initially entered the portal but withdrew his name.

There are still a lot of spots to fill and not a lot of time to fill them as the transfer portal closes on May 1st. Smith has his work cut out for him, but retaining your leading scorer is big, especially when building a new team in a new conference.
