OL DARIUS WASHINGTON WILL HAVE SPECIAL SENIOR SEASON

Offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins will have a veteran offensive line group that should be very successful for Florida State in 2024. This should be Atkins' best unit since he has arrived in Tallahassee.

One player that he and head football coach Mike Norvell are excited about on the offensive line is redshirt senior Darius Washington. The Pensacola, Florida native has been through two different coaching staffs and has remained committed to finishing his journey at Florida State.

Washington has been viewed as a Swiss Army knife for the Seminoles where he has played offensive tackle, guard, and center over the years. After a sensational 2023 campaign, he was awarded a First Team All-ACC selection.

Norvell mentioned that Washington is an All-American player and has high expectations with him. The coaching staff has decided to allow him to play the position that he is comfortable with. Washington chose to play the left tackle position. As for versatility, this will likely allow the coaching staff to rely on redshirt freshman Andre Otto to be the utility piece on the offensive line.
