WILL MALIK BENSON BECOME WR1?

Florida State has to replace the likes of big-bodied wide receivers such as Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman, who declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. Both contributors dealt with injuries throughout the 2023 season, but (when healthy) Wilson and Coleman were super dynamic.

Wide receivers coach Ron Dugans did a tremendous job with securing talent in the position room such as the talented recruits: Camdon Frier, BJ Gibson, Lawayne McCoy, and Elijah Moore. He also added transfers such as Malik Benson (Alabama) and Jalen Brown (LSU).

Norvell has alluded to several occasions that Benson has been having some elite moments in practice. However, the Alabama transfer has to find a way to be more consistent as he struggled with drop issues. I believe that Benson could be a number one wide receiver option for the Seminoles.

However, it might be a lot to ask for with a player who did not register 200 receiving yards in 2023 for the Crimson Tide. The Seminoles did bring in transfer quarterback DJ Uiagalelei who excels in pushing the football downfield to his playmakers which could cater to Benson's strengths.
