Florida State is having to replace the likes of big-bodied playmakers such as Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman at the wide receiver position. Both players decided to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft. Wilson and Coleman combined to record 1,275 yards and 13 touchdowns last season.

That will be a ton of production to replicate in 2024 with new transfer signal-caller DJ Uiagalelei and redshirt freshman Brock Glenn at the helm. Nonetheless, wide receivers coach Ron Dugans added talented pieces to the room with four highly-touted prospects in Camdon Frier, BJ Gibson, Lawayne McCoy, and Elijah Moore as well as two transfers in Malik Benson (Alabama) and Jalen Brown (LSU).

The coaching staff has spoken highly of Benson where it seems like they want to make the Alabama transfer the number-one receiving option if he can remain consistent with his abilities. There are also weapons such as Kentron Poitier, JaKhi Douglas, Hykeem Williams, and Destyn Hill (before he got hurt).

One name that might not be thought about by the fanbase is LSU transfer Jalen Brown. While the former four-star prospect did not record any statistics with the Tigers, the coaching staff recruited the Gulliver Prep standout while in high school.

Brown has been talked about as being a burner in the offense where he can get past opposing defenders. With Uiagalelei being a quarterback who utilizes his strong arm to be able to push the football downfield, Brown can be an effective weapon for a Mike Norvell offense that wants to put up points.

I am not suggesting that Brown will be the number one wide receiver option. I am not even thinking that he could be a second or third choice. However, Brown should be able to find a home in the offense where he is utilized and I don't believe that he will just sit on the bench.
