5-star DE target Zion Grady schedules an official visit with Florida State
Florida State is currently ranked as the 15th-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle. However, the Seminoles still have some work to do if it wants to get where it wants to go in terms of acquiring highly-touted prospects.
One prospect to monitor throughout the process is five-star defensive end Zion Grady from Enterprise High School in Enterprise, Alabama. FSU fans seem to have a bit of PTSD with recruiting defensive end prospects from the state of Alabama given what happened with Class of 2022 four-star Keldric Faulk, who flipped from the Seminoles to the Auburn Tigers on Signing Day.
However, pass rushers are pivotal positions to recruit since they can impact a defense's performance with the ability to impact the quarterback's decision-making ability. If you don't believe me, just look at the presence of defensive ends such as Jermaine Johnson II, Keir Thomas, Jared Verse, and Patrick Payton during their times in Tallahassee.
Grady was originally committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide, but he backed off of his pledge after legendary head football coach Nick Saban shockingly announced his retirement this offseason. Head football coach Mike Norvell has already grabbed one of the Crimson Tide's former commits with four-star defensive end Javion Hilson. Could he secure another recruit?
According to a report from 247Sports' Tom Loy, Grady will be officially visiting Florida State from June 7-9.
However, the Seminoles are in a heated battle with several teams such as Miami, Auburn, Tennessee, and Georgia. Florida State has put its best foot forward as Grady has visited Tallahassee several times.
Unfortunately, the Georgia Bulldogs will likely be his final official visit of the summer. This is worrisome given that the Alabama native received a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Bulldogs recently from 247Sports' Anna Adams. Defensive end coach John Papuchis and company have to find a way to knock Grady's official visit with the Seminoles out of the park to give themselves a chance.
