DT DANIEL LYONS

Florida State is going to miss the services of veterans Braden Fiske and Fabien Lovett Sr. as they navigate to the NFL. That is a ton of collegiate experience that the Seminoles will have to replace.

However, the good news is that defensive tackle coach Odell Haggins has been at Florida State for over 30 years and is one of the best in the country at developing the position. The Seminoles know what they have in bonafide studs Joshua Farmer and Darrell Jackson Jr.

They were high school teammates and are looking forward to playing alongside each other once again. However, as we know about the defensive tackle position, they cannot consistently play 80 snaps per game. They have to have some rest.

Defensive coordinator Adam Fuller mentioned during a media session that the Seminoles have six defensive tackles in their rotation that they feel comfortable with in Joshua Farmer, Darrell Jackson Jr., Daniel Lyons, KJ Sampson, Grady Kelly, and Tomiwa Durojaiye.

Norvell recently spoke highly of the redshirt sophomore Daniel Lyons who said that he has had a great fall camp and is pushing himself to be a key factor in the defensive tackle rotation. This is a massive development for the former four-star prospect as he looks to be DT3 in the rotation and looks to be a starter in 2025. I have high hopes for Lyons in 2024 though.
