LB JUSTIN CRYER

Florida State's linebacker room will be going through a big adjustment with having to replace two productive pieces in Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune.

Linebackers coach Randy Shannon has always been an assistant that has developed players to the professional ranks. However, the Seminole fan base understands how difficult it could be with DeLoach and Bethune being such focal pieces last year.

While veteran DJ Lundy returns for his senior season, there wasn't much collegiate experience in the room. The coaching staff added veterans such as Shawn Murphy (Alabama) and Cam Riley (Auburn).

However, other pieces on the roster seem to be forgotten about such as sophomore linebacker Justin Cryer. He originally signed with Northwestern but elected to transfer to Florida State before even playing a snap.

At the time, it was unknown how much the former Wildcat transfer could be in the rotation. However, even though the Orange Bowl was meaningless, he had six tackles in the game versus Georgia and was very active in coming downfield to make the tackle. He has worked very hard this offseason and it could be an opportunity for him to shine in a room that is considered "wide open".
