4-star WR target Vernell Brown III includes Noles in top four schools list
Florida State has not secured a wide receiver prospect in their 2025 recruiting class. The Seminoles would like to add at least two playmakers alongside four-star signal-caller Tramell Jones Jr. from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida.
What better option to add than his South Florida Express 7v7 teammate in four-star wide receiver Vernell Brown III from Jones High School in Orlando, Florida? Brown III is seen as a high-priority option for the Seminoles as the coaching staff extended his second-ever offer to the Orlando native.
On Tuesday afternoon, Jones Jr. released his top four schools list. That narrowing of the list included schools such as Florida State, Florida, Miami, and Ohio State.
For reference, he will officially visit Ohio State on May 31st, Miami on June 11th, Florida on June 14th, and Florida State on June 21st. He decided to conduct an interview with Tyler Harden of TTJH Sports where Brown III discussed each of his finalists.
It certainly helps that the Florida State coaching staff is loved by him and that he could envision himself playing there. However, it is worrisome that he stated that Ohio State "speaks for itself".

The Buckeyes under the direction of position coach Brian Hartline were able to snag five-star Jeremiah Smith from the Seminoles during the 2024 recruiting cycle.
They habitually develop wide receiver prospects at an elevated rate to the professional ranks. However, it does ease the uncertainty given that Florida State will have the last official visit before the summer.
Wide receivers coach Ron Dugans could earn his recruiting stripes if he were able to sway Brown III from trending to the Buckeyes. However, as most individuals know, recruiting is an ever-changing process that requires teenagers to make one of the most important decisions in their lifetimes.
This recruitment could get very interesting down the stretch.
