4-star DT target names Florida State as top school in recruitment
Florida State football has one defensive lineman committed to the 2025 recruiting class in four-star defensive end Javion Hilson from Cocoa, Florida.
The coaching staff is attempting to secure more talented prospects in the cycle. Luckily, they have an opportunity to wow several highly-touted recruits as they take a trip to Tallahassee for Legacy Weekend where former FSU players Jared Verse, Jammie Robinson, and James Rosenberry Jr. unveiled their All-American bricks on campus.
One prospect that I alluded to in a previous article was four-star defensive tackle Myron Charles from Port Charlotte, Florida. The talented defender is the 140th-best prospect in the 2025 cycle. He has already received a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Seminoles.
During the exit meeting after his unofficial visit, Charles informed a multitude of media members that the Seminoles were his top school at this time. Defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins has a track history of developing players in his position to be successful in the NFL.
The program was able to acquire three-star defensive tackle Jamorie Flagg from the 2024 recruiting cycle. However, there likely needs to be an emphasis on landing talent in the trenches with current players such as Joshua Farmer and Darrell Jackson Jr. both going to the NFL after this upcoming season.
The top priority in this recruiting cycle for the Seminoles will be acquiring pieces for the offensive and defensive trenches. If the Seminoles somehow get Charles to commit to the program, it would do wonders in terms of replenishing the depth in the position room.
Florida State is not in the clear for this recruitment as the Florida native has an official visit scheduled with USC for June 7th and the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes for June 14th. Even though it might seem like the Seminoles have the lead, they have to continue to apply the pressure on the recruitment.
