4-star DE target Chinedu Onyeagoro visiting the Noles for second spring practice
Florida State football is currently ranked as the 19th-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle with five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr., four-star defensive end Javion Hilson, and four-star linebacker Ethan Pritchard.
While that is a really good foundation for the recruiting class, fans understand that there has not been much momentum of the trail as of late after four-star safety target Darrell "Duke" Johnson elected to commit to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
I'm not suggesting that fans should be in a panic in March about recruiting when prospects won't be signing the dotted line until December. There are so many ebbs and flows to recruiting that it is so many factors that go into it.
However, the Seminoles have a prime opportunity to showcase their recruiting prowess as we are quickly approaching the Garnet and Gold Spring Showcase on April 20th and summer camps where Florida State will be hosting several highly-touted prospects.
As of right now, the coaching staff is focusing on spring practices to develop the talent that they currently have on the roster. Head football coach Mike Norvell likes to showcase his select group of practices to media members, coaches, and reporters so that they can witness what goes on around the program.
This is unlike several programs across the country where the Seminoles try to allow their players to present themselves to others. There are also instances where highly-touted recruits will also make their way to Tallahassee to witness practice so that they can see what it like in a day in the life of Florida State football player.
One prospect who stated on social media that they would be in attendance for the Seminoles' second spring practice today was Class of 2025 four-star defensive end target Chinedu Onyeargoro from King Drew Medical Magnet in Los Angeles, California.
According to his 247Sports' recruiting profile, Onyeargoro recorded 103 total tackles (30 for loss) and 21 sacks last season. This is the type of pass-rushing success that the Seminoles need. It is wonderful to see him utilizing an unofficial visit with the program.
With only having Hilson committed to the program, the Seminoles will likely want to acquire at least two edge rushers to solidify the depth at the position.
