3 players to watch for in the Noles' second spring football scrimmage
TE KYLE MORLOCK
The tight end position is very important in head football coach Mike Norvell's offensive scheme. Fans used to laugh when the Seminoles had so many scholarship options on their roster. However, tight ends can line up as in-line blockers, on the outside, and in the slot.
The Seminoles are having to replace the likes of Jaheim Bell, who declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. Bell was the third receiving option for Florida State last season. Big-bodied pass catchers Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman took much of the show since they were talked about quite a bit.
However, Bell was a pivotal piece in the offense when he was healthy and running other LSU defenders. The Seminoles will now have to find viable options on the team at the position. Senior Kyle Morlock is now projected to start at tight end.
Morlock came from a Division II school (Shorter) and was often disregarded by the fanbase given where he played his collegiate football early in his career. However, he proved the doubters wrong as the tight end was serviceable this season especially when the Seminoles needed him when they were short-handed in the Pittsburgh contest.
I need to see if Morlock will emerge as the leader in the room.
