LB SHAWN MURPHY

The linebacker position unit is having to find talented options in the room after losing veterans Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune graduating after the 2023 season. We already discussed in yesterday's article talking about Norvell's Thursday practice takeaways that linebacker Justin Cryer is having really good days in practice.

Florida State was able to be fortunate enough to have veteran DJ Lundy return to Tallahassee in 2024. The Seminoles were able to add transfer Shawn Murphy from Alabama this offseason. Head football coach Mike Norvell consistently decided to take talent away from the Crimson Tide, and Murphy was a player that was oozing with talent.

Murphy did not play much in Tuscaloosa. However, he was a former four-star prospect that Alabama hated to lose. Linebackers coach Randy Shannon is going to have to decide how he will split the reps in the room with so many talented back up options.

Murphy has not been mentioned by Norvell with practice. I feel like it could be time for him to finally emerge as we inch closer and closer to the spring game.
