DE JARED VERSE

Florida State received wonderful news this past offseason when ultra-talented defensive end Jared Verse elected to return to Tallahassee for his senior season. The former Albany transfer recorded 48 total tackles (17 for loss) and 9 sacks during the 2022 season and was regarded as a first-round draft grade.

Even with the first-round projection, he wanted to come to Florida State to cap off some unfinished business. Verse had a difficult few couple of weeks where he faced double and even triple teams at times. However, the defender made ends meet as he finished with 41 total tackles (12.5 for loss) and 9 sacks during the 2023 season.

Overall, the Seminoles will miss his services. However, Verse should make the team that drafts him very proud. He had an exceptional NFL Scouting Combine where he put his size and speed on display for the NFL scouts to see.

I could envision Verse with his high motor and production lasting a while in the league. I am excited to see who drafts him and bring consistent pressure to opposing quarterbacks for years to come.
