DL JAMES WILLIAMS
The Seminoles' defensive line has been criticized by the Florida State fan base at times this season. They showed pressure and physicality in the season opener against Alabama as well as the two easier opponents in East Texas A&M and Kent State, but individuals wanted to see more.
The fan base was begging former Nebraska defensive end transfer James Williams to step up. He had the most production coming into the year from any of the veterans on the defensive line, plus he has already had experience working with defensive coordinator Tony White and defensive line coach Terrance Knighton, so this should have been a slam dunk.
Unfortunately, that has not been the case. Defensive lineman James Williams has looked confused and out of place. While he was a situational pass rusher at Nebraska, the thought was that he was going to shine even more with increased playing time.
Williams got his swagger back against Wake Forest, as he recorded a half sack and caused quarterback Robby Ashford to throw an interception as soon as the pressure got to him.
