DB EDWIN JOSEPH

I remember that viral quote that defensive back Edwin Joseph had during the 2024 season before heading into practice, where he yelled at the team saying that if they didn't want to be here, then go home.

It was a testament to how passionate cornerback Edwin Joseph is. He plays with a ton of heart and aggression. He might not be the best player on the roster, but you know that he will give 1000%. You could see that in the Georgia Tech opener last year, where he virtually obliterated a Yellow Jacket player on special teams.

This moment translated to more reps on the defensive side of the football. The former Chaminade-Madonna Prep standout is someone that the coaching staff has always raved about. More importantly, the team always emphasizes about the importance of responding to adversity.

It becomes a cliché statement when the Seminoles have been a combined 6-15 record over its last 21 games, but the point remains true. Defensive back Edwin Joseph jumped offsides on a field goal attempt on 4th and 4, which gave Stanford a free first down and continued their drive. Then, he allowed the Cardinal to score a touchdown later in the drive.

Head football coach Mike Norvell went over to Joseph after the play was finished, but the defensive back brushed off him out of frustration. That moment looked brutal at the moment because the thought was that the defender had checked out. It is good to see him making plays against Wake Forest.
