CB JEREMIAH WILSON
Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson doesn't strike fear in me when evaluating his skill set because he has not proven anything with the Crimson Tide during his three seasons in Tuscaloosa, being a career reserve.
However, this is Simpson's time to shine as he has a dynamic weapon to throw to in returning sophomore wide receiver Ryan Williams. Everyone remembers the spin move that he put on the Georgia Bulldogs early in the season. But the pass catcher tapered down his production with the Crimson Tide as the season went along.
As it stands, the Florida State defense has to find a way to defend him. The Seminoles found an answer as they went to the transfer portal to pick up Houston senior cornerback prospect Jeremiah Wilson, who was considered one of the best man-to-man coverage defenders in 2024.
During the 2024 season with the Cougars, Wilson recorded four interceptions and consistently caused issues for opposing playmakers. I hope that he makes Williams very uncomfortable throughout the game because Florida State is going to need it.
Side note: I didn't realize until the end of this article that all of my selections were transfers, but that speaks to the pickups that the coaching staff had in the offseason and how valuable transfers can be in today's college football landscape.
