DE JAMES WILLIAMS
Florida State had a complete overhaul on the defensive line, where three of their four starters are no longer with the program (Darrell Jackson Jr. is the only one left).
You could almost call it the kiss of death when former Alabama head football coach Nick Saban stated that the Seminoles had one of the best defensive line units in college football in 2024. However, that notion went out the window after the Georgia Tech season opener.
Head football coach Mike Norvell had to make drastic changes to the defensive line, where he hired Terrance Knighton to be the defensive line coach. Then they added transfers such as James Williams, Deante McCray, Deamontae Diggs, and Jayson Jenkins.
The one that I am most excited about is Williams because he has a relationship and a feel for the defense with defensive line coach Terrance Knighton and defensive coordinator Tony White, since he played at Nebraska.
Williams wasn't a full-time pass rusher as he recorded five sacks in 2024 with the Cornhuskers, but the redshirt sophomore will have to show off his skill set against the Crimson Tide in the opener.
