Florida State basketball head coach Luke Loucks and his staff have been working on preparing for the opening of the transfer portal since their season ended in the ACC Tournament Semifinals.

They have had time to prepare, a staff working together, more resources, and, most importantly, proof of concept in year one under Luke Loucks.

FSU has lost most of its team to eligibility exhaustion and has had a few departures to the transfer portal, with a No. 8 recruiting class nationally on the way. That means Luke Loucks must dip back into the portal to gain some experience and production to remove pressure from those young players.

What type of player attributes will Luke Loucks and the staff be looking for?

Loucks communicated that in a recent meeting with the media. They will be looking for shooters who can put the ball in the basket first and foremost, especially from the three-point line. They’ll be looking for length and aid in what they’re trying to accomplish on the defensive end, and they’ll likely try to bring in a couple of big men to help in the rebounding department.

The latter was one of the biggest weaknesses in last year’s team, which was put together from the transfer portal. I’d look for FSU to take mostly productive players from the mid-majors and some talented reserve players who may not have played as much as they have liked at their Power Four program they signed with out of high school.

We'll list the players to commit and plan to sign with FSU basketball from the transfer portal below:
