If you want to know how important Myles Bailey is to FSU baseball, all you have to do is look at the number of home runs the team has and how many belong to Bailey. Bailey is one of the main reasons FSU came from behind to clinch the series over the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday afternoon.
FSU was trailing 7-5 in the bottom of the sixth before Myles Bailey cranked a tape measure shot with a runner on to tie the game at 7-7. The home run sent a jolt of energy through the crowd, re-engaging everyone. Bailey finished the game 2-3 with four runs scored and two RBI.
However, Bailey might have played his final game in the garnet and gold after suffering an injury in the bottom of the eighth inning, sliding into second base after a failed pick-off attempt by Duke:
Prayers for Myles Bailey 🙏🏼

The hits just keep coming for Florida State sports when they have teams who could potentially when a National Title it seems.
There are so many similarities between how Jordan Travis ended his Florida State career. Both injuries were to the ankle on teams with potential opportunities to bring a national championship to Florida State. Florida State baseball had some flaws with Bailey in the lineup because they lacked consistency, and he was the main guy opposing teams feared every time he entered the batter’s box. It’s the same way opposing teams feared FSU with Jordan Travis playing the quarterback position.
I highly doubt Bailey returns to play for Florida State this year, and the odds that he’d return for 2027 are probably low since he was already projected to likely be a top 100 pick.
Our prayers go out to Myles Bailey for a speedy and full recovery. It doesn't seem right that Florida State fans have had to endure two significant injuries to end the seasons of star players having excellent years like this.
