Florida State baseball fans have gotten used to seeing home runs over the years. FSU has always had excellent power hitters, but FSU has one player on the team who’s different than the rest.

Enter FSU first baseman, Myles Bailey, a mammoth of a man, standing at 6’4” and 255 pounds. Bailey is one of the premier power hitters in college baseball. He hit 19 home runs as a freshman in 56 games in 2025. He’s already hit 12 through 24 games in 2026 in only 74 at-bats. The cool part is he only needs one more walk to tie his entire total from a year ago (202 at-bats)

Bailey doesn’t just hit bombs; he hits absolute moon shots with unbelievable exit velocities:

We're going to miss these mammoth home runs when Myles Bailey goes in the 2027 MLB Draft.

Bailey earned ACC Player of the Week honors for his performance against NC State last weekend. There were some scouts who projected him as a third-round prospect, which tells me they don’t know what they are talking about. Bailey hit .325 as a freshman and is hitting .351 so far in 2026.

Does he strike out a lot? He struck out in 37.6 percent of his at-bats last season, which is a high rate. However, that percentage is 36.4 percent through 24 games this year. However, his batting average (.351) and on-base percentage (.441) are outstanding.

A power hitter is the ultimate equalizer because they can change the game with one swing. They can also help guys in the lineup get better pitches to hit before or after them.

What this analyst says about the power of Myles Bailey is the ultimately compliment.
