Florida State baseball had its dominant weekend series against Wake Forest on the road. The Demon Deacons were favored to win the series, but the Seminoles were able to prevail. Head coach Link Jarrett is starting to see his squad deliver on a big stage.
Florida State had a disappointing outing against the arch-rival Florida Gators. However, it is understandable since the Gators have a good baseball program (as much as I hate to say it).
The Seminoles open this weekend playing North Carolina State at home. This was a measure of how good the program can be. The Wolfpack is ranked in the top ten.
Florida State infielder Myles Bailey is an absolute beast at the plate
Florida State's offense has been inconsistent this year, plus the power numbers and strikeout totals are a concern for a team that is expected to have a deep postseason. Infielder Myles Bailey has been a big source of their power hitting.
The Tallahassee, Florida, native has generated buzz around the country. The Seminoles were in trouble in the fifth inning, as Florida State trailed by a score of 2-1. However, Bailey made the most of the opportunity as he hit a three-run home run to left field.

This home run made Dick Howser Stadium go crazy as the Seminoles took a 4-2 lead. This is a big confidence booster for Florida State's program as Link Jarrett wants to continue the hot streak with the team.
Unfortunately, the offense has to deliver once again as North Carolina State gets two runs to take the 5-4 lead in the sixth inning.
A 2-run double gives NC State the lead.

M-6, NCSU 5, FSU 4
Florida State needs to get more players than Myles Bailey to step up offensively. This is a conference game that the Seminoles need to capitalize on. It was expected that the pitching staff would likely give up runs against North Carolina State after the combined no-hitter against Bethune-Cookman.
